Our aims

When it comes to recovering from stroke, a whole host of healthcare professionals are involved from the initial diagnosis right through to rehabilitation. The coordinated expertise of physicians, nurses, therapists, psychologists and carers, is essential to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient.

Through multidisciplinary educational events, the UK Stroke Forum aims to bring healthcare professionals together to:

  • Stimulate shared learning across all disciplines involved in stroke.
  • Promote multidisciplinary research.
  • Provide a unified voice for more statutory sector funding for research.
  • Enable stroke healthcare professionals to meet and share ideas and discuss best practice, clinical guidelines and pathways.
  • Enable patients and carers to meet with professionals to contribute to the shaping of research and services.
