Primary Care Cardiovascular Society
Following its official establishment in September 1997, the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society (PCCS) is becoming one of the leading forces in promoting high quality cardiovascular care in the primary care setting. The Society, which is affiliated to the British Cardiovascular Society and a member organisation of the National Heart Forum, has been granted charitable status.
The Primary Care Cardiovascular Society (PCCS), aims to improve the care and outcome of patients with cardiovascular disease in the primary care setting and provide a general practice perspective on cardiovascular disease management to policy makers and expert bodies.
The Society works closely with contacts in parliament, the Department of Health, key players in the NHS, and other organisations such as the British Heart Foundation and the British Cardiovascular Society to exert influence to develop long term strategies to encourage change which will lead to an improvement in CVD prevention and management in the UK.
