Connect - the communication disability network
![]()
Connect is a national charity working collaboratively to promote effective services, new opportunities and a better quality of life for people living with stroke and aphasia (communication disability).
We achieve this by:
- developing innovative therapy and support programmes for people with aphasia, their relatives and friends, to enable them to reconnect with life after stroke
- providing and promoting opportunities to develop experts with aphasia. These experts go on to supply training, advice and consultancy and to co-deliver services for us and other organisations
- training everyone involved in delivering stroke services, based on hands-on experience and research
- publishing accessible resources for people living and working with stroke and aphasia.
- delivering strategic and practical consultancy, sharing ideas and pooling knowledge to drive change to services.
We aim to enable people living with aphasia to reconnect with life again, have a voice in the wider community and have access to a wide range of appropriate therapy and support.
